Francis E. Jamieson (1985-1950)
Painter in oil and watercolour of Highland and Coastal scenes. A prolific painter who often signed with pseudonyms such as ‘Phil Hips’, ‘Graham Williams’, ‘W. Richards’ and ‘Arnold Pienne’. His oils were most commonly Loch or Highland landscapes. He travelled widely throughout the country between the wars selling his paintings. His work was often in a more traditional Victorian style and his pictures were reproduced as postcards by Ajelli and Co of London around 1920.
Our oil on canvas is typical of Jamieson’s work depicting a Scottish loch scene. Framed behind glass and signed by the artist.
Approx size : 29 inches x 21 inches including frame. 24 inches x 16 inches excluding. Jamieson. Images are not the best as always difficult to photograph when the painting is framed behind glass. Condition is however perfect
